Dryad ‘PlouPlane’…
I came across what was tagged as “early plough plane” but on further inspection it was… well it was a plough plane, but for book binding, not woodwork.

I guess it is used for trimming page ends on a bound book to level them off.
The pages clamp in like so…
and the plane is, well it’s ploughed across the paper. And the blade does the work…
et voila: nice level pages…

Not sure how old it is but, with some research found out that, Dryad Handicrafts Ltd, Leicester, supplied hospitals with craft material for occupational therapy for wounded soldiers after WW1. With increasing demand it expanded from there.
