60 Years ago…
… my Great Grandma, Great Granddad, and their daughter and son (my Grandma, and her brother) came over on the “Cilicia”, from Karachi.
Granddadda banked his pension, working for the British Railway, in India (by the looks of it) and booked a place on the ship for his family.
The journey took them 6 long weeks…
…The first stop was Liverpool, but found their way to 5 Waldeck Road in Ealing, London where their home awaited them.
It wasn’t long before Grandma was listening to Frank Sinatra and celebrating the Coronation…
